Philip Enquist

Governor’s Chair for High Performance Energy Practices in Urban Environments

Philip Enquist is the partner in charge of urban design and planning, and leader of the Global City Design Practice at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

Enquist is part of the team designing the sustainable new Egyptian capital city.

His work in the US includes numerous planning strategies for leading universities, Chicago’s Central Area Plan and Millennium Park Master Plan, and the District of Columbia Height Master Plan Modeling Analysis.

A select research team serves with Enquist in the Governor’s Chair appointment. The team members administer projects through UT’s College of Architecture and Design and work with Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Buildings Technology Research & Integration Center to push new energy-efficient building products to the market.
